John C. Tedesco, Associate Professor and Director of Research and Outreach, along with co-authors Lynda Lee Kaid (University of Florida) and Mitchell S. McKinney (University of Missouri-Columbia) published the chapter, “Applied Political Communication Research” in the Handbook of Applied Communication Research (Routledge Press 2009, Lawrence Frey and Kenneth Cissna, Eds.). The chapter reviews five dominant areas of applied political communication research, including political speech, political campaign debates, political advertising, political news, and new technologies in political communication. The Handbook offers readers 25 chapters covering state-of-the-art material on communication in applied settings such as health, aging, organizations, helping professions, politics, families, and non-profits. |
