John Tedesco (tedesco@vt.edu)
Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies, Department of Communication
Dr. Tedesco (Ph.D., University of Oklahoma) joined the Virginia Tech Department of Communication in 1999. Dr. Tedesco is published widely in academic journals such as The Harvard International Journal of Press/Politics, Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, Journal of Advertising, Communication Studies, Journalism Studies, and Argumentation & Advocacy. In 2007, Dr. Tedesco served as guest editor for American Behavioral Scientist’s special issue dedicated to “Politics, Media, and Young Citizens.” Dr. Tedesco’s research focuses on campaign communication, with emphasis in political, public relations, and health campaign contexts. Dr. Tedesco received prior research support from the U.S. State Department, the Hungarian-American Fulbright Association, the British Economic & Social Research Council, and the Political Communication Research Foundation. |

James D. (Jimmy) Ivory (jivory@vt.edu)
Assistant Professor, Department of Communication
Dr. Ivory joined the Department of Communication in 2005. He is also the chair of the department's research coordinating committee. His primary research interests deal with social and psychological dimensions of new media and communication technologies, particularly the content and effects of new entertainment media such as video games. During 2008-2009, Dr. Ivory is the head of the Communication Technology Division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. |

Robert Magee (rgmagee@vt.edu)
Assistant Professor, Department of Communication
Dr. Magee joined the Department of Communication in 2006. The bulk of his research explores two areas: (1) media psychology and (2) new technology and society. Projects focus on the effect of psychographic variables on persuasion, and the psychology of new technology.

Roxana Maiorescu
Research Participation Coordinator
Ms. Maiorescu is a graduate student in the Department of Communication. She coordinates research scheduling, participation, and logistics. Ms. Maiorescu received a B. A. in journalism from Babes Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Her primary research interests are public relations and foreign languages. |

Adrienne Ivory
Research Associate
Mrs. Ivory is a doctoral student in the Department of Human Development . She has been involved in experiments conducted in the Communication Research Facility as both a principal investigator and as a co-investigator. |

Kevin Lancaster
Research Associate
Mr. Lancaster is a senior in the Department of Communication from Amelia County, Virginia. He will graduate after the Spring 2009 term and hopes to find a job at a television station.
